Meet your Inspector

Experienced and Professional

My name is David Allen. I have worked in the home remodeling and maintenance industry for over 5 years and experience in customer service for over 20 years. I bring all of that to the table while completing home inspections and giving buyers the peace of mind in their home buying decisions. There are no homes too large or small, old or new, that we cannot present a thorough report and educate our clients on the systems and items found throughout the inspection. I will not stand in the way of a home sale, just educate everyone on their purchase and let them get to closing with ease.
I look forward to helping you purchase your dream home!

When you schedule with Home Remedy, David personally inspects your home.

Inspection Services

residential Inspections

Certified Inspector will evaluate your property for safety, quality, and habitability. They inspect and identify issues in key systems such as structure, electricity, plumbing, HVAC, and roofing, throughout both the interior and exterior of the home or condo.

pre-sale inspections

A pre-sale inspection evaluates a property before listing, identifying issues and repairs needed. It covers the home's structural components, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roof, and systems. A detailed report outlines deficiencies, assisting homeowners in making repairs and potential buyers in evaluating their house or condo. .

Radon Testing

Radon testing can identify if the levels of radon in your home are dangerous. Radon is a radioactive gas that is odorless, tasteless, and invisible. It is naturally formed from the breakdown of heavy metals in the earth and can enter a home through cracks in floors, walls, drain systems, and other sources.

Mold & Air Sampling

There are over 400,000 types of mold, and while there are only a few dozen that are toxic, exposure to many molds can lead to health problems. It can also cause structural damage to your house.

New Construction Inspections

A new construction inspection ensures that a property is built to standard by examining all critical elements including structural integrity, plumbing, electricity, and HVAC systems. Our experts will also verify finishes meet quality standards. Once complete, a detailed report of any issues with recommendations for remediation is provided, giving homeowners much-needed peace of mind regarding their investment.

All You Need to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

A home inspection is a thorough, unbiased visual examination of a house, encompassing everything from its structural components to its various systems, from the roof right down to the foundation. It’s a crucial step in the home buying process aimed at safeguarding you, the buyer, by uncovering any underlying issues that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.

Our home inspection services start at $450, with the final cost subject to factors such as the size, age, and location of the property. We understand that every home is unique, and we strive to offer transparent pricing that reflects the intricacies of your particular situation.

Typically, a home inspection will take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours to complete. However, the exact duration can vary based on several factors, including the size and condition of the home, as well as accessibility to key areas like the roof, crawl space, and attic. We dedicate ample time to ensure a thorough assessment, never rushing through the process.

While not mandatory, we highly encourage your participation, especially during the final 30 minutes of the inspection. This provides an excellent opportunity for us to walk you through our findings firsthand, addressing any questions or concerns you may have in real time. Your presence allows for a collaborative approach, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the property’s condition.

It’s essential to recognize that no house is without its imperfections. Following the inspection, we’ll provide you with a comprehensive report detailing the property’s physical condition, complete with images and videos highlighting areas that may require attention or maintenance. This information empowers you to make an informed decision regarding the transaction. Remember, the report isn’t about passing or failing—it’s about equipping you with the knowledge needed to move forward confidently.

We cover Residential Home Inspections, Commercial Inspections, Radon Inspections, Mold Testing, Indoor Air Quality Testing, Well Inspections, Sewer Scope Inspections, Solar Inspections, and Water Quality Testing.

We can also provide assistance with Wood Destroying Insect Inspections and Septic Inspections.

Give me a call, I will likely be able to assist in your area so long as you’re in western North Carolina.

I am very glad that I chose David to be my home inspector. I was a first time home buyer and I needed someone who was knowledgeable, trustworthy and had good communication with his clients. David was all three and more! First, despite living in the Asheville area, he was more than willing to drive out to McDowell county to help me. Second, David was willing to take the time to help me understand things I didn’t know about. While other inspectors either didn’t want me to attend the inspection or ask questions during it, David was fine with both. I was able to follow him during the inspection and he allowed me to ask the questions I had as I came up with them, gave me thorough answers to help me understand and even explained some things to me before I asked about them. David’s thoroughness and attention to detail also saved me a headache. The first house I had him inspect for me was very nice aesthetically but had many hidden issues that David pointed out for me. By doing this, I was able to save time and money by avoiding costly repairs. When that house purchase fell through, he did the house inspection for the house I ended up closing on. Because of him, I am a homeowner now! I enthusiastically recommend David to anyone and everyone in Western North Carolina who are in the process of buying a house!

David has inspected four homes for me, so I know his work!! Not only is he incredibly thorough and professional, but he also is incredibly kind and caring. I explained to him my anxiety about mold and he took extra care to highlight areas that he thought would be issues and reassured me when he could tell they weren’t going to be issues. He also is willing to constantly improve his services - I explained to him my fears about EMF and he did some research and expressed interest in learning more. David is easily reachable for scheduling and any follow up questions. I’ll definitely use David if I ever buy a house again!
